About Knottsville – Update

I’ve posted an old picture looking down Main Street (Hwy 144) in the “About Knottsville” section.  I’ll be posting more in the days to come.

Bobby Carrico Benefit Pics

Got some new pics of the event from Rosie Payne.  Those chickens look very tasty..

Benefit for Bobby Carrico

A benefit for Bobby Carrico brought familiar faces around Knottsville together at Millay’s Tavern.  The event lasted most of the day and into the night.  Cornhole, live music, great BBQ, and a few cold ones made the day one to remember.  It’s been said more than once that the people in and around Knottsville support each other as if they all were part of the same family.  Something we should all be proud of and appreciate…

Updates for Landmarks

I’m slowly getting pictures of the landmarks put on the site.  I just added a link to the St. Lawrence and St. William pages that are pictures associated with Google maps.  Also, I posted a picture on the Lanham’s Grocery page that show when the store was on the other side of the street.  I’ll be adding other landmarks and associated pictures (old and new) in the next week.  I’ll update you as they become available.  Stay tuned!!

Umbrella time

I guess if you forecast it enough eventually it will rain.

Smooth Sailing

The resurfacing of Hwy 144 seems to be done and the busy Knottsville traffic can get back to normal.

The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes

Ok, they’re not killer tomatoes but they are very impressive.  Charles “Doodlebug” Lanham, the owner of Lanham’s Grocery, is seen here beside 2 tomato plants he is growing out of  a couple of bales of hay behind his store.  I think I’ve found my source for home grown tomatoes.  Shhhhhh…..
